Accounts and saved work

Your email address and sign-in credentials are handled by Supabase Authentication to create and protect your account. MenuMargin saves your recipes, ingredient prices, supplier details, selected invoice references and price history in the Supabase database under your account ID. We use this information to provide account access, recipe costing, price updates, synchronization and recovery.

We process the account and saved-work information needed to provide the service you request. Support correspondence is used to answer your questions, investigate problems and handle account requests. Do not include customer or employee information in recipes or supplier notes unless you need it there.

Invoice photos

Invoice recognition runs on your device. MenuMargin does not upload your invoice photo or full OCR word output to an invoice-processing service. The selected file and its cleaned preview are held for the current scan and released when you clear the scan or sign out. Only price-book rows you choose to import, their invoice references and price history are saved to your account.

If you choose to download a debug file or cleaned image, that download remains on your device until you remove it. A file already in your Photos library is not removed by clearing a scan.

Device storage and hosting

This browser stores your sign-in session, account-specific recipes, prices, pending changes and recovery drafts. MenuMargin does not encrypt this device copy itself. Signing out hides private screens and removes the current sign-in session, but normally retains saved work for offline recovery. On a shared device, use the account option to remove its device copy after saving and syncing. Keep the device locked and do not share browser profiles containing private work.

The service worker caches application files and OCR models for repeat and offline use. It does not deliberately cache user-selected invoice files. Browser settings or storage eviction can remove local copies; download account backups when you need an independent copy.

Supabase provides authentication and cloud data storage. The published app and recognition models are served by the website's hosting provider, currently GitHub Pages for the main site. Those providers receive the network information needed to serve requests. MenuMargin has no advertising or analytics scripts in this build. We do not sell your recipes or invoice data.

Retention and account requests

Cloud recipes and prices remain while you keep them in your account. Deleting an item is queued for cloud deletion and other devices receive the change when they refresh. Independent downloads, device copies and hosting/database recovery backups may persist separately. Contact support for an account-deletion request and information about recovery-backup retention; there is no automatic expiry schedule promised for those backups in this build.

You can download your recipes and prices from Saved recipes → Download backup. You can ask us to correct or delete account information, provide access to it, or explain its use. We will verify that you control the account before acting on a request. Email support. You may also contact the UK Information Commissioner’s Office with a privacy concern.
